Hasselbacken in Stockholm
The name “Hasselbacken” was established in the 1760s, and became a concept in Stockholm’s restaurant industry. Confectioner Jacob Wilhelm “The Hasselback King” Davidson opened “Restaurang Hasselbacken” in 1853, which immediately became known for its good food, punch and lively singing. Although the building burned down in 1923 (for the seventh time) and was rebuilt two years later, its charm and atmosphere have been preserved.
